Conditions of Service

Seaford Windscreens will endeavour to provide the best customer service at all times.

To do this our preference is to have the customers vehicle at our workshop at 22 Seaford road, Seaford.

We want this because we can guaranteed that the workspace is a safe, undercover environment for our staff.

If the vehicle has ADAS systems operating, we can also arrange same day calibration at our workshop which means convenience and peace of mind that your vehicle will be returned complete and tested ready.

But life throws all sorts of challenges at us and at times it may not be possible to drop your vehicle into us.

So for customer convenience we can offer a couple of options.

Door to Door service

From time to time, it may be impossible for the customers to move the vehicle from it's location for various reasons. IE work commitments, children need caring for etc.

For our local customers we are able to provide a door to door service where we pick the car up and drop it back to it's owner on the same day. This can be organised provided there is a prior arrangement and the car is fully registered and roadworthy.

No extra charge will be added for this service.#conditions apply

Mobile Service

Furthermore, it may be impossible for the vehicle to be moved from it's location for various reasons. Maybe the windscreen is too badly damaged, the car won't start or is unroadworthy etc.

When these conditions arise we can offer a mobile service for customer convenience by prior arrangement.#

We will however require the vehicle undercover in extreme weather conditions and reserve the right to not work on the car if the work area is deemed to be unsafe.

 # Credit card details must be forwarded to our office staff as part of the prior arrangement.

The card won't be charged until completion of the work to the satisfaction of the customer.

The benefits of workshop servicing

Windscreens are now being used to fit all sorts of electrical components.

We now find windscreens are being utilised for components like cameras, arials, rain sensors and heaters. Checkout our slide gallery below of a Ford Focus camera & rain sensor setup.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems or ADAS, use camera sensors to assist drivers to avoid collisions.

Forward facing cameras are the most common while side and rear cameras are becoming more common with manufacturers.

Some of the systems provide assistance for:

Lane departure warnings - Lane keeping assistance - Road departure mitigation - Traffic sign recognition - Forward collision warning - Automatic emergency braking - Adaptive cruise control -

Pedestrian detection - Automatic high beams.

Side and rear sensors provide for things like:

Parking assistance - Blind spot detection - Cross traffic alert - Around view monitoring

So when a vehicle part that has a camera attached to it, is removed or replaced, then it has to be recalibrated so it aligns with the vehicle accurately.

If a vehicle is manufactured with ADAS systems, insurance will cover the costs involved with any calibrations required.

If in the event the vehicle is not insured, cost of the windscreen replacement will include an additional charge to cover the cost recalibration.
